Tailte Éireann

Last updated at 08:59 on 30/11/2022

We are informing our customers and stakeholders about the establishment of Tailte Éireann, a new State entity, which will bring together land and property information services in the State, including registration, valuation, and surveying services. This new organisation merges the Property Registration Authority (PRA), the Valuation Office (VO) and Ordnance Survey Ireland (OSI).

The creation of Tailte Éireann brings renewed focus to the work of our respective organisations and offers new opportunities for service enhancement.

The draft legislation providing for this new body, the Tailte Éireann Bill 2022, was published on the 6 of September 2022 and was introduced in the Oireachtas. You can view the progress of the Bill at https://www.oireachtas.ie/en/bills/bill/2022/82/. You can find further information on the creation of Tailte Éireann and updates on the merger progression at www.tailte.ie.

Our key message is that business will continue as usual during the merger. How our stakeholders contact and access the products and services of the PRA, VO and OSI remains the same in the interim period to the establishment of Tailte Éireann. Therefore, there is no action required from our stakeholders at this time.

Liz Pope, CEO of the Property Registration Authority, has been appointed as transition lead for Tailte Éireann. Liz is looking forward to working with all stakeholders to prepare for a successful establishment.

Our merger will bring about positive change in providing land and property information, registration and valuation services. We look forward to providing new and enhanced services to meet the needs of all our stakeholders. As the merger progresses, we will provide further updates to ensure that Tailte Éireann delivers its services effectively and efficiently for all our customers and stakeholders.
